23 bilingual students from IES Alhamilla travel to Midleton College, Ireland

 

Ayer, 1 de Abril y por cuarto año consecutivo, un grupo de 23 alumnos/as bilingües de 2º,3º,4ºESO y 1ºBachillerato viajaron a Irlanda para practicar  y perfeccionar el idioma.

Durante una semana, hasta el 8 de Abril, convivirán con familias de alumnos/as del Midleton College y se acercarán no sólo a su cultura y costumbres sino también a un mejor desarrollo de su competencia comunicativa.

En Midleton visitarán lugares de interés  y pasarán un día en el College asistiendo a sus clases con sus compañeros irlandeses.

Aquí os dejamos el “Itinerary” y una foto de su salida hacia el aeropuerto de Málaga … a las 5:45 de la mañana!!!

ITINERARY

Tuesday 1st April

Arrival to Midleton College approximately 3pm. Short welcoming ceremony in College Assembly Hall. Students depart with their partners and families after ceremony.

Wednesday 2nd April

Go to school with partners. Meet with Spanish teachers until 9.30am. Class until 12:55 for all and then traditional Irish lunch in Midleton College at 12:55. Students will be free to go with their partners after lunch.

Thursday 3rd April

Assembly at 8:40am. Both Irish and Spanish students will depart at 9:00am for a trip to Killarney, where we will visit Muckross House, Torc Waterfall, (comfortable walking shoes/sports shoes needed, and don’t forget raingear!), and go shopping in Killarney. Return to Midleton 6pm. approx.

Friday 4th April

Assembly 8.45. Depart Midleton College 9.30am. Trip to Fota Wildlife Park, and then onto Cobh, where we will visit the Heritage Centre and the town of Cobh. Return to Midleton College 3.45pm, depart with families for the weekend.

Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April 

Weekend with the families

Monday 7th April

Students come to school with partners and meet with Spanish teachers after Assembly at 8:40 am. Depart Midleton College at 9.00am for a visit to Cork City, and then onto Cork City Jail, followed by a trip to Blarney Castle (comfortable walking shoes/ sports shoes needed!!). Return to Midleton College at 3.45pm.

Tuesday 8th April

Early departure from Midleton College (meet at 4:30am) to Cork Airport and home!
